Have you been an intern? Did you get a job or are you unemployed? Are you trapped in an intern cycle?
Whatever state you’re in, if you have been an intern in any sector, please do this survey! Click here to take survey, or visit our surveys page.
A forum for interns to share their experiences and discuss the ethics of unpaid employment. Most importantly, we want this site to be a place where YOU can tell us your story.

This doesn’t really seem like it will be a fair survey…Most people coming to your site ‘Interns Anonymous’ are probably those that have had grievances…plus the way you have phrased your survey ‘Are you trapped in the intern cycle?’ suggests your obvious stance on the matter. You need to take this to the masses – not just the few following your site – if you want some accurate feedback!
Thanks for the comment Gareth! Not everyone who gets in touch and visits the site comes to complain – lots just come to share their experiences, good and bad.
Lots of internships can be very useful – including some we have done… but we also think this is a phenomenon which needs greater scrutiny and more discussion.
The phrasing we use is meant to be open-ended. Not in the least-bit intended to influence. I think anyone who answers the questions will do so of their own accord – irrespective of what we have to say on the matter!
Have you seen some of the results? What do you think of them?
No – how do you access the results? I would be very interested to see them.
Hi Gareth, our results at the moment are pretty out of date(should be searchable in the archive)- so I’m in the process of writing up a new post with all results up to date…I’ll hopefully work out how to link to the PDF as well, although we’re having technical difficulties of late! Thanks for reminding us, it’s high time we did this.
